on January 18, 2010I am still recovering from January 16th’s TSG’s (Tri-State Gaming) LAN / PARTY hosted by RGP. I was out there gaming and jamming up in NYC, with the entire RGP crew, Womanizer (MW2 FFA Champ), Empire Arcadia (Street Fighter Champs), and a bunch of other gamers from every where. It was simply on and pop’n! Take a look at this video, so you can see some of what you missed.
(Overview of the event, interviews and more included in video)
Yup, yup, as you can see, this was not an ordinary LAN tournament. This place had tons of style and energy. You can tell TSG, was all about pleasing the gamers. They pretty much had something for everybody, spectators and competitors, from all over the tri-state area had a ball.
I mean the first thing that stands out is the setup. The setup was very hi-tech and expensive. The smallest Flat screen TV in there was 27 inches, and they were all LG and Samsungs. There was two big 70 inch projection interfaces, one was there to showcase Music Videos, and the other was used to spectate the competition screens. As you seen in the video, the room was lit up in different colors, and a live Dee Jay was on the scene pumping that adrenaline boosting music, that had everybody bouncing.
The setup was truly unique because it was not just designed to house Competitors. Spectators and Casual gamers was actually a focal point. There was several stations setup for gamers to play. Everything from the Wii, to the Xbox 360 and PS3 was available to keep people entertained. One of the stations, had some comfortable chairs setup to complete the lounge/party environment.
Another thing that stood out about the setup, was the 8 Flat Screens they had in a circle for the HALO and MW2 FFA. It was just sick, not only to spectate, but to compete on. The Street Fighter and Madden guys, had their 33 inch TVs to go all out on. All in all, the competition level was pretty high, and nice to look at. That’s added plus points for TSG.
What it comes down to is that I was very impressed with the entire event. They had everything a real gaming party needs. Food, drinks, music, video games, hi-tech setup, and cool people, are the ingredients that amplified my experience. For a local LAN tourney: TSG gets 5 out of 5 stars. You can check out TSgaming.com for more news and info (its under construction, but until then you can check out RGP and XDAO for updates). I hope to see you guys at the next event.
